Personal Branding is the key to making money. It’s a trending topic for a reason. It’s the key to more clients, more money and less work.

Align your Personal Brand to a specific audience and outcome
You want to be known for something right? Let me give you a huge tip. Be known for an outcome. It’s one thing to be known as the expert in topic X, but it’s even better to be known as the person who gets Y from topic X.
In other words, don’t be known as the mindset coach. Be known as the mindset coach that can unlock massive productivity.
That gives you two topics to talk about…. mindset and productivity.
The key is, you want to be known the the big transformations, not just the topic.
Would you rather be known as the realtor who is the most knowledgeable or the realtor who sells homes fast and gets the very best offers?
Don’t settle for building a brand based just on your knowledge, build it on the outcomes you help people achieve.
Inject your personality and beliefs
Your personality is a filter. It will repel people you won’t work well with and it will act like a magnet. Seriously, one of the big reasons many personal brands never make an impact is because they are BORING.
You’re an interesting person, you have quirks and flaws. You have a personality. Leverage it for your benefit.
I know, you might be worried if you let it out, you might go too far with it. That’s a legitimate concern, but not letting it out could be just as harmful. You have to take a risk, trust yourself and let a bit of your personality out.
I didn’t do this for a long time.
I became resentful of people in my industry doing better than me. But little old vanilla me wasn’t standing for anything or showing any differentiation.
Don’t do what I did. Let your personality be a differentiator.
Pick two colours + white or black
When you are putting your brand together, you want to make sure that you are on topic, but also visually consistent. It’s about being remembered and recognisable.
It’s important you choose colours that work together and use them consistently in your content and profile.
This helps you be recognisable.
Some quick tips on selecting colours.
As you’ll see from the colour wheel, you should use colours which go well together.
There are two easy options…
Opposites - choose two colours at opposite sides of the colour wheel
Shades - choose shade of the same colour.
As you’ll see, I use dark blue, light blue and white. Two shades of blue and white.
How does a personal brand help me make money?
As you become known for that ‘One Thing’ the Mere Exposure effect kicks in, this is a psychological impact you make on your audience. The more people see you, the more they remember you and importantly, the more exposure they have to your brand the more they trust it.
So, how do you make money from it?
Your personal brand will help you become top of mind with your prospects
It will position you as an expert and people will expect to pay more
It will establish buyer preference - people will choose you for you
So how do you make money more specifically?
Get on social media, grow your network, friends and followers and talk about the same things over and over and over again. It really is a repetition game.
Of course, you can accelerate it by:
Hosting Live Webinars and Audio Events
Going on podcasts and interviews
Writing for industry publications
Sharing value content through lead magnets and whitepapers
You need to think about your personal brand as a long term asset. You nurture your personal brand over years and it builds more and more value for your career, business and professional reputation.
It’s something that goes ahead of you making money.
