“I don’t have the time to write three to five social media posts a week.”
“There are too many social media channels to post on nowadays.”
“Video content is performing well but I have nothing to film.”
Whatever your excuse is, the result is the same; you can’t stick to a consistent posting schedule and what you are posting is providing little to no value for your audience.
Well, I am here to tell you that it’s time to stop letting these excuses hold you back from Social Selling success.
Writing just one blog post a week (or a month if it’s really value-packed) will give you a bank of content that you can repurpose.
Just one blog post can be used to create…
LinkedIn Posts
Short form or long form, your blog posts will make insightful LinkedIn posts. Taking the main point of your post and adding an engaging image/graphic, or even turning snippets of your blog into carousels will give you a variety of content to post.
Instagram Posts
Images always help to dress up content. Unlike LinkedIn, however, the image is the filling of your content sandwich on Instagram, it’s what is going to differentiate your content from everyone else’s. Various parts of your blog post can be converted into multiple Instagram posts depending on what imagery you use to spice it up.
X Posts
The social media platform formerly known as Twitter is perfect for thought dumping. So, take the parts of your blog post that still make sense outside of context and create a single post or even a thread of posts to share with your audience.
YouTube Videos/Shorts
Video content is one of the hardest to create but once you’ve got a script, things become a whole lot easier. If you’re writing regular blog posts then you already have a backlog of scripts ready to go. These can either be used for longer YouTube videos or cut down into snippets for YouTube Shorts.
Reels/TikToks
Instagram Reels and TikToks will help you get your point across and connect with your audience in a more engaging way. Even better, any snippets you're already using for YouTube Shorts - or even sentences you’re throwing out onto X - will work perfectly for this media form.
Repurpose, repurpose, repurpose
Don’t post and forget! Study the metrics of posts that do well and apply this knowledge to your content strategy (both for writing social media posts and blog posts). You’ll start to notice that your audience is responding more to certain topics or particular types of content (i.e. text posts vs video content). This will help you focus your content strategy and take the guesswork out of content creation.
